23 Nov Infographics & VLOG’s are the future of Blogging
Why Infographics and Video’s dominate your standard blog post in almost every metric
I know some “hardcore bloggers” haha hardcore bloggers…will get upset at reading this but its the truth and the truth hurts. People want visual, easy to read, pleasing to eye content, although long form blogging is far from dead by any means.
Now I could sit here and write your standard 800 word blog post on some amazing Growth Hacking topic from my arsenal however a revelation occured from one simple case study done of the KINGS of CONTENT, Contently. They have proven that Infographics and VLOG’s are the future. Say goodbye to your favorite little “/blog” slug and get used to “/vlog” or “/infographs”, I trademarked /infographcs BTW so don’t try to use it. AND BTW some sites like Alex Becker’s Source-Wave have already been doing this for some time now as well as some other very prolific industry related niche blogs going heavy on the graphics and media and less heavy on the words. Due to HubSpot’s research into the matter they found that 60% of marketing professionals focus all their effort on BLOG content which less than 30% of users will likely read them through. Why is that? Well lets be honest who actually sits down in today’s world and reads a 1000 word text block, even on a topic you love its hard, most people simply just skim through. You know, you’ve done it yourself in fact your probably doing it right now.
Social Media and the prominence of Video in the marketing sphere has completely changed the Content Marketing game. Social & Video engage the user while written out content blog format style forces YOU to engage, the other way a round. See? Ahhhh it all makes sense now. In HubSpot’s Nobel Prize winning “2016 State of Inbound” report, the goddamn holy grail for some people (laughing at those people), however they do an amazing job and this one shows that only 33% of marketers are focused on visual content. Maybe you should start to change your strategy a bit for 2017, or ask Santa Claus for a production company.
WHY DO PEOPLE LOVE INFOGRAPHICS? I HAVE AN INFOGRAPHIC FOR THAT.
Of course, HubSpot are all over it already as they’ve been doing this for a while now.
Here’s the future of blogging ladies and gents, now try to figure out to create some better than this one.
